Made of stainless steel
Stainless steel is an alloy enriched with chromium and often nickel, making it resistant to rust and staining. A stainless-steel blade is easy to maintain, hygienic and well-suited for everyday use. While generally softer than high-carbon steel, it offers a good balance of sharpness, durability and ease of cleaning. Note: with a plastic handle, dishwasher cleaning is possible, though hand washing and drying are still recommended to preserve cutting performance. With a wooden handle, dishwasher use is not advised, as it may cause cracks or deformation of the wood.
Made of SK5 steel
SK5 is a Japanese high-carbon tool steel with a higher carbon content (approx. 0.80%) than C60. As a result, it delivers very high hardness, excellent edge retention and superior wear resistance. SK5 steel is ideal for knives and tools that undergo intensive use where durability and cutting performance are essential. Note: SK5 is not stainless. Contact with moisture may cause stains or light corrosion. Always clean and dry the blade after use and apply a light coat of oil. Dishwasher cleaning (not recommended) may cause harmless stains that do not affect cutting quality.
